The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) has cleared more than Rs 575 crore for eight infrastructure projects across the city. For anyone tracking Jaipur property, the list shows where the city plans to fix its biggest problems like traffic on Gopalpura Bypass, monsoon flooding in the northwest and a lack of event infrastructure in the north. The approvals came at the 10th meeting of the JDA’s Projects Works Committee (PWC), led by JDA Commissioner Siddharth Mahajan. Roads and drains rarely lift prices overnight. They do remove the reasons buyers stay away from an area and demand follows once commutes get shorter and streets stop flooding. These plans can be the catalyst for the Jaipur property market. These improve public spaces but are unlikely to move Jaipur property prices on their own. Gopalpura Bypass The largest single approval goes to the Gopalpura Bypass elevated road. The JDA has cleared a revised budget of Rs 250.85 crore for the stretch from the Triveni Nagar railway overbridge (ROB) to Gujjar Ki Thadi. Gopalpura Bypass is one of south Jaipur’s most congested roads. Shops, offices and homes line both sides, and signals slow traffic for long stretches at peak hours. The new elevated road is planned as a signal-free route, which would let through traffic skip the street-level jams. The project affects property along the corridor in a few clear ways:
